On October 4, Google will reveal the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 during a “Made by Google” event. The Pixel Watch 2 will be released in India on October 5 and, like the Pixel 8 duo, will only be available through Flipkart. Google previously revealed that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro would be released in India a day after their unveiling.
Since Google did not introduce the first Pixel Watch in the largest smartwatch market in the world, this is good news for Pixel Watch enthusiasts in India. It is unclear, however, whether Google will also make its smartwatch available in other nations this year.
Google didn’t reveal the Pixel Watch 2’s specifications, but it did reveal its design and confirm its IP68 certification, heart rate monitoring, and SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels.
However, according to reports, the second-generation Pixel Watch would feature a 306 mAh battery, 1.2″ OLED with 384×384-pixel resolution, Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, and Wear OS 4 running on Android 13.
Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is rumored to be included in the Google Pixel Watch 2, which could make it possible to use it to unlock cars with a Digital Car Key, locate specific devices, and transfer media seamlessly to a docked Pixel Tablet or a future Nest speaker that supports UWB.
